Many people suffer from sensitive skin, but the term covers a broad range of sensitivities. There are generally 3 levels of sensitive skin. Which level are you? – read about it and watch a video explanation.
The most sensitive skin types are generally genetically predisposed to sensitivity, or are as a result of injury or severe medical treatments (like radiation or chemo-therapy). Laser treatments, microdermabrasion, chemical peels and similar aggressive treatments will definitely result in more sensitive, and unbalanced skin.
For most people, using the incorrect skin care products will exacerbate the problem, so choosing products that are specifically for sensitive skin will help. Most anti aging solutions are not suitable for sensitive skin because anti aging products are invariably going to ‘stimulate’ the skin, and that generally means more redness, irritation, and discomfort for sensitive skin sufferers.
If you have sensitive skin, then treat is sensitively. It is, after all, the only skin you will ever have so try to make it stronger and more balanced. A stronger and more balanced skin will definitely be less sensitive.
